Week 2: Common Nouns and Articles

  • Focus:
    • Singular/plural forms of nouns with definite/indefinite articles.
    • Examples:
      • Ένας άντρας (a man) → Οι άντρες (the men).
      • Μία γυναίκα (a woman) → Οι γυναίκες (the women).
    • Writing sentences with nouns and articles:
      • Έχω ένα κόκκινο μήλο. ("I have a red apple.")
  • Practice:
    • Fill-in-the-blank exercises with nouns and articles.
    • Writing sentences describing objects around you.

Week 3: Adjectives and Basic Descriptions

  • Focus:
    • Basic adjectives and their agreement with nouns in gender and number.
    • Examples:
      • Ο μεγάλος σκύλος. ("The big dog.")
      • Η κόκκινη τσάντα. ("The red bag.")
    • Writing simple descriptive sentences:
      • Το σπίτι μου είναι μικρό. ("My house is small.")
  • Practice:
    • Matching adjectives to nouns.
    • Writing 5–10 descriptive sentences.

Week 4: Personal Pronouns and the Verb "To Be" (Είμαι)

  • Focus:
    • Personal pronouns: εγώ (I), εσύ (you), αυτός/αυτή/αυτό (he/she/it).
    • Conjugating the verb είμαι ("to be").
    • Writing sentences like:
      • Εγώ είμαι στο σχολείο. ("I am at school.")
      • Αυτή είναι όμορφη. ("She is beautiful.")
  • Practice:
    • Completing sentences with the correct form of είμαι.
    • Writing short paragraphs introducing yourself.

Month 2: Expanding Skills

Week 5: Introducing Verbs in the Present Tense

  • Focus:
    • Common verbs like θέλω (I want), διαβάζω (I read), πηγαίνω (I go).
    • Writing sentences like:
      • Θέλω ένα παγωτό. ("I want an ice cream.")
      • Πηγαίνω στη δουλειά. ("I go to work.")
  • Practice:
    • Writing 5–10 sentences with different verbs.

Week 6: Time Expressions and Daily Routines

  • Focus:
    • Using phrases like:
      • Το πρωί (in the morning), το βράδυ (in the evening), κάθε μέρα (every day).
    • Writing sentences about daily routines:
      • Ξυπνάω στις επτά το πρωί. ("I wake up at seven in the morning.")

    • Writing a short paragraph about your daily routine.

Week 7: Prepositions and Locations

  • Focus:
    • Common prepositions: σε (in/on/at), κάτω από (under), δίπλα σε (next to).

      • Είμαι στο σπίτι. ("I am at home.")

Week 8: Questions and Negative Sentences

  • Focus:
    • Forming questions with Πού (Where?), Τι (What?), Ποιος (Who?).
    • Writing negative sentences using δεν:
      • Δεν πηγαίνω στο σχολείο. ("I don’t go to school.")
    • Example questions:
      • Πού είναι το βιβλίο σου; ("Where is your book?")
  • Practice:
    • Writing simple questions and their answers.

Month 3: Writing Short Paragraphs

Week 9: Describing Yourself and Others

  • Focus:
    • Writing paragraphs about personal details:
      • Με λένε Μαρία. Είμαι από την Ελλάδα. ("My name is Maria. I am from Greece.")
      • Αυτός είναι ο φίλος μου. Είναι δάσκαλος. ("This is my friend. He is a teacher.")
  • Practice:
    • Writing 5–6 sentences about yourself and someone you know.

Week 10: Writing About Your Environment

  • Focus:
    • Describing your home, neighborhood, or city.
    • Examples:
      • Το σπίτι μου είναι μεγάλο και έχει έναν κήπο. ("My house is big and has a garden.")
    • Practice writing paragraphs with 5–8 sentences.

Week 11: Writing Letters and Messages

  • Focus:
    • Writing informal letters or messages:
      • Γεια σου Μαρία, τι κάνεις; Θέλεις να βγούμε αύριο; ("Hi Maria, how are you? Do you want to go out tomorrow?")
    • Writing greetings and closings:
      • Φιλικά, Κώστας. ("Best regards, Kostas.")
  • Practice:
    • Writing short letters/messages to classmates.

Week 12: Final Practice and Review

  • Focus:
    • Reviewing all key concepts: nouns, verbs, adjectives, prepositions, and sentence structure.
    • Writing a short composition (8–10 sentences) combining everything learned:
      • Introduce yourself, describe your daily life, and talk about your favorite activities.
  • Practice:
    • Personalized feedback on writing samples.
