Greek Vocabulary Builder - Level A1

Duration: 6 Months (Weekly Sessions)
Goal: To build a comprehensive A1-level vocabulary, enabling students to communicate effectively in everyday situations and prepare for further language learning.


Course Structure (24 Weeks)

The course is divided into thematic modules, each focusing on specific vocabulary categories. Each week includes:

  • A set number of new words (20–40 words per week).
  • Practice exercises for memorization and usage.
  • Weekly quizzes to reinforce learning.

Month 1: Everyday Basics

  • Week 1: Common Greetings and Introductions
    • Hello, goodbye, please, thank you, excuse me, etc.
    • Introducing yourself and others.
  • Week 2: Numbers and Counting
    • Cardinal numbers (1–100).
    • Ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.).
  • Week 3: Days, Months, and Time
    • Days of the week, months of the year.
    • Basic time expressions (morning, evening, now, later).
  • Week 4: Colors and Basic Adjectives
    • Common colors.
    • Simple adjectives (big, small, good, bad, etc.).

Month 2: Home and Family

  • Week 5: Family Members
    • Mother, father, siblings, grandparents, etc.
  • Week 6: Household Objects
    • Furniture, appliances, and everyday items.
  • Week 7: Rooms in the House
    • Kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, living room, etc.
  • Week 8: Activities at Home
    • Sleeping, cooking, cleaning, watching TV, etc.

Month 3: Food and Shopping

  • Week 9: Common Foods and Drinks
    • Fruits, vegetables, meats, bread, coffee, tea, water, etc.
  • Week 10: At the Market or Grocery Store
    • Buying, selling, prices, weights (kilo, gram, etc.).
  • Week 11: Dining Out
    • Menu items, ordering food, restaurant vocabulary.
  • Week 12: Cooking Terms
    • Boil, fry, bake, ingredients, recipe-related terms.

Month 4: Travel and Transportation

  • Week 13: Common Places
    • Bank, hotel, airport, station, park, etc.
  • Week 14: Modes of Transportation
    • Bus, train, car, bicycle, walking, etc.
  • Week 15: Giving and Understanding Directions
    • Left, right, straight, near, far, etc.
  • Week 16: Travel Essentials
    • Passport, ticket, luggage, map, etc.

Month 5: Work and Daily Activities

  • Week 17: Occupations
    • Teacher, doctor, student, shopkeeper, etc.
  • Week 18: Workplace Vocabulary
    • Office, computer, phone, meeting, report, etc.
  • Week 19: Daily Activities
    • Wake up, go to work, study, exercise, etc.
  • Week 20: Common Verbs for Everyday Life
    • Eat, drink, walk, read, write, etc.

Month 6: Socializing and Hobbies

  • Week 21: Social Expressions
    • How are you? I’m fine, nice to meet you, see you soon, etc.
  • Week 22: Sports and Hobbies
    • Play, run, swim, paint, sing, etc.
  • Week 23: Leisure Activities
    • Watching movies, reading books, going out, etc.
  • Week 24: Recap and Final Vocabulary Quiz
    • Review of all 6 months’ vocabulary.
    • Final practice exercises and quiz.
